Liar liar pants on fire

It was simple when were children right?

Everything was so black and white. There was right and there was wrong. Good and evil. Truth and lies.

Somewhere along the way, it isn't so simple. Black and white fade into more grayed areas in our lives. It isn't necessarily wrong, but its not really right. And the truth? Well we learn the art of the little white lie, deception and even omission.

Not so simple anymore.

The trouble is, Christians get caught up in these gray areas of living as well.

We live somewhere in between right and wrong and find our homes riding the fence so to speak.

This is why unbelievers get so turned off by Christians.

It seems to be on the verge of impossible for many Christians to simply say what they mean or feel. Honesty has become an option rather than the best policy.

Here is my point: If God told you to do something, why lie about it?

If God legitimately spoke to you, and is leading you to do a work for him, then there should be no reason for deception or dishonesty.

Yeah, you may hurt someone's feelings, but if God is in it then he will cause it all to work together for the good, right?

But it seems that many Christians lie or deceive to spare someone's feelings or in order to not have that awkward conversation. They would rather delete facebook friends and go behind the backs of people who have been so generous to them in the past.

If you have a dream, go for it. Do whatever it takes. If God has placed it in your heart, then by all means hit the ground running.

But if the road you have to take to get there leads to deception, that doesn't sound like a road that Christ is on at all.

If I feel the need to deceive someone about the things that I am doing, then I feel like I would need to question if God was in it at all.

I mean isn't not lying like a commandment or something?

Why can't work we work together as Christians and simply be honest.

Pray for each other rather run each other down and steal from one another.

I don't know, maybe people caught up in the lies have deluded themselves to the point that they actually believe  the words that come out of their mouths.

Moral of the story: Its time to get honest with ourselves. Are we helping or hurting? Are we furthering the kindgdom of heaven, or we actually causing destruction?

Just some food for thought.

"Just because something isn't a lie does not mean that it isn't deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction"

What is Paigerific? I’m glad you asked, although I don’t have an exact definition to offer. Paigerific is my thoughts and my heart. Paigerific is my passion and my fear. Paigerific is my success and my failures. Paigerific is my blood, sweat, and tears. Paigerific is more than just simply word. It’s a million different words all rolled into one. Words like hope, grace, determination, imperfection, love, faith, insecurity… The one word I would use to describe myself? I am Paigerific.
